Senior Living FAQs
How can music benefit our residents?
My performances create opportunities for connection and shared enjoyment through music. I love chatting with residents, learning their favorite songs, and incorporating familiar requests into future programs. I’ve found that familiar songs can spark conversations and memories, which can be especially meaningful for residents living with memory loss. My versatile instrument and varied repertoire allow me to tailor each performance to the community, from soothing classical music to lively renditions of popular songs from residents’ formative years. An ongoing residency provides the opportunity for me to become a familiar musical presence in your community and build meaningful relationships with your residents.
What is a Harp Residency Program?
A Harp Residency Program is an ongoing partnership in which I return to your facility on a recurring schedule, creating a consistent musical element of your residents’ experience.
What is your process for working with new clients?
New clients can begin by submitting an inquiry through my contact page with details about their venue’s needs and an indication of whether they would like to begin with a Trial Performance or establish a Residency Program from the outset.
I’ll review your inquiry within 1-3 business days and follow up using your preferred method of contact to schedule a complimentary consultation. During our consultation, we’ll discuss your venue’s programming goals, guest experience, load-in logistics, and the details of our prospective partnership.
If you choose to begin with a Trial Performance, we’ll schedule a two-hour performance at your venue. Because a Trial Performance is a standalone engagement, the contract must be e-signed and the invoice paid in full before the performance date.
If you decide to move forward with an ongoing partnership, I’ll prepare a separate Residency Agreement outlining your recurring performance schedule and terms. Residency performances are invoiced on a recurring basis and may be paid according to Net 30 terms, depending on your organization’s standard accounts-payable practices.
Can you tailor performance experiences for varying levels of resident mobility and engagement?
Absolutely! I’ve performed at the bedsides of residents who are unable to leave their rooms, on stage for residents who prefer to quietly listen, and in intimate sitting rooms for residents who enjoy chatting, clapping, and singing along. All levels of participation are welcome. I’d love to partner with your team to design programming that works for the unique needs, preferences, and energy of your community.
What is your policy for rescheduling, cancellations, and refunds?
I am proud to have never canceled on a client thus far. If I need to cancel a performance due to injury, illness, or another unforeseen circumstance beyond my control, all payments received will be fully refunded.
Client-Initiated Rescheduling:
All rescheduling requests must be submitted by email. Rescheduling requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability on my performance calendar. Rescheduling does not alter the original payment schedule. Any payment due under the original agreement remains due according to the original payment terms, regardless of the rescheduled performance date.
For Trial Performances: The parties must secure a mutually agreeable rescheduled date within 14 days of the rescheduling request. If a new date cannot be secured within that period, the booking will be considered a client-initiated cancellation.
For Residency Program performances: The rescheduled performance must take place before the following scheduled residency performance. If no mutually agreeable date is available within that timeframe, the affected performance will be considered a client-initiated cancellation. If the affected performance is the final performance of the series, the rescheduled performance may take place up to 30 days after the conclusion of the residency contract.
Client-Initiated Cancellation:
All cancellation requests must be submitted by email. Other than cancellations, no other circumstances are eligible for a refund. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to process.
Trial Performances:
- 30+ days before the performance: 50% of payments received will be refunded, excluding payment-processing fees.
- 30 days or fewer before the performance: No refund will be issued.
Residency Program Termination:
If a client wishes to terminate a Residency Program, they must provide 60 days’ written notice. All performances scheduled during the notice period remain subject to the terms of the original agreement and must be paid in full.
